Laser Surgery Options

SO MANY THINGS TO CHOOSE FROM!!! Every single day I ask my patients if they are interested in laser surgery options. Should I dare forget, I am reminded quickly, because they ask me. There are so many wonderful options for patients. LASIK is NOT the right answer for everyone. Even under the LASIK umbrella, there are so many options, upgrades and packages to discuss. Please, do yourself and your own eye doctor justice by taking the time to discuss your laser surgery options. Don’t walk into a commercial laser center and get zapped without talking to the one who has been caring for your eyes. As optometrists, we have a very unique position in the market in that WE DONT DO THE SURGERY. That said, when things go wrong, guess who my patients come searching for. If I did not have the opportunity to discuss the surgery with them, it takes everything I have not to yell at the top of my lungs “You should have talked to me first!” In my metropolitan area, I have come to know which surgeons are the best and which….are not. So, please allow sufficient time before your desired surgery date to talk to your optometrist. Or, feel free to post some general questions here.
